whatever we have, whether we worked hard to have it, blessed by someone else, given or inheritance left for us by our parents. How are we looking after all these things? Our bodies, the souls, and the spirit in us. Are we being the good stewards of all these things? The earth we are living on, the air we breathe, the water, and the list goes on and on.

How are we looking after all that we have been given?

I want all of us to pause and look at the things that make us who we are and encourage us to be good stewards. I once heard someone say if you don’t use it, you lose it.

Let’s take a look at this parable in the word of God and see what it says :

Luke 19:11-24 11. Now as they heard these things, He spoke another parable, because He was near Jerusalem and because they thought the kingdom of God would appear immediately. 12. Therefore He said: “A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return. 13. So he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten [a]minas, and said to them, ‘Do business till I come.’ 14. But his citizens hated him, and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We will not have this man to reign over us.’ 15. “And so it was that when he returned, having received the kingdom, he then commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. 16. Then came the first, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned ten minas.’ 17. And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.’ 18. And the second came, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned five minas.’ 19. Likewise, he said to him, ‘You also be over five cities.’

20. “Then another came, saying, ‘Master, here is your mina, which I have kept put away in a handkerchief. 21. For I feared you, because you are an austere man. You collect what you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.’ 22. And he said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant. You knew that I was an austere man, collecting what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow. 23. Why then did you not put my money in the bank, that at my coming I might have collected it with interest?’ 24. “And he said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina from him, and give it to him who has ten minas.’

After reading the above passage, the boss had trusted his workers and gave them Mina’s before he left and traveled to another country for some time. The boss asked his workers to do some kind of business till he comes back. You see what he did when he returned, he rewarded his workers accordingly and the one who hide the Mina was not rewarded, but whatever was given to him was taken away and given to the one who had produced more.

but whatever was given to him was taken away and given to the one who had produced more.

This parable teaches us to be responsible, God had trusted us with a lot of things, He has given us families, jobs, Children, businesses, friends, life, ourselves, gifts, and Holy Spirit. We need to be good stewards and look after all that has been given to us.

Failing to honor and take care of what we have will cause us to lose all that we have worked, rewarded, or given. We must value all the things we have and take great care of them. Imagine God blesses you and gives you a spiritual gift, if you don’t acknowledge and use that gift, you will lose it and in the physical, if you don’t put effort even into your relationship, that relationship will not work well.

For those that are married, it takes both parts to invest in your union to flourish and work well, a great marriage requires a balance of everything, it is not for a man alone or a woman alone, it takes both and the result will be great. The other ingredient needed for that marriage is prayer.

(Ecclesiastes 4:9-12)Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. 10. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls,For he has no one to help him up. 11. Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; But how can one be warm alone? 12. Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

God loved us so much that he even trusted us to carry his image and be ambassadors of his Kingdom. He gave us beautiful families, friends, parents and the list goes on, let us be good stewards in all things, the air that we breathe and the earth we dwell on needs us to look after them and be responsible. Let us be good stewards and our Heavenly Father will reward us, imagine taking time out and going out and preaching/teaching or telling them about our Lord Jesus, harvesting soul for Christ, each soul you bring to the Kingdom, there will be a celebration in heaven.

It is just mind-blowing how God has trusted us with his best. As our Lord Jesus has trusted us, it is my hope and prayer that we will also trust him and be able to believe in him. Surely he will never forsake us, for he loved us. We are the stewards that God is depending on us to do the work that he has assigned us to do for the Kingdom and for His glory to shine on the earth. He will honor those who do his will and do the work that we are all called to do.

Be a good steward in your home, family, community, nation, school, university, work, and everywhere, we can make this earth the best place to live.

Praying for good stewards and a spirit of belonging.
